This is more along the lines of a public service announcement.

This weekend, July 15th and 16th, Skype is allowing its US and Canada customers free calling to the United Kingdom.

I’m not the biggest fan of Skype in the world, but it works, and it’s easy to use. So if you’ve got some friend out in the UK direction, why not give ‘em a call this weekend? No long distance rates to pay. No worrying about international rates or calling cards. Just get yourself Skype and talk all weekend long. You don’t pay anything. You don’t look at ads scroll by. You don’t have to sign a contract. No obligations. Just use some free minutes this weekend!

But it’s basing itself on Eastern Standard Time, so … only until about 9:00pm Sunday night here on the west coast.

Oh, and don’t forget. Skype customers get free calls within the US for the rest of the year.
