Snoop work

For the last few days I’ve been doing temp work at a maxillofacial surgical center in the desert. It happens to be the same place I visited to have my wisdom teeth taken out.

My job has been alphabetizing patient charts. Don’t ask me why. You’d think they would be in alphabetical order already. I don’t know how they had them before. I’m just glad they’ve switched over to computer based records (so they can sort them in whatever crummy order they want to).

At first I was looking forward to coming across my chart. I took the C’s on purpose. When I finally did come across it, I felt that since it was my own information I should be able to open it and take a look at it. I did. It was very un-exciting.

Then, as work continuted, I started coming across the charts of other people I knew. People from church. People from school. Not anybody I was really that close to, but names that were familiar with ages that matched up. Most of the time I was able to place a face, but there were a few that never came.

I had the urge to open them up and see what had been done. I resisted.

Mostly.

Seems like a lot of people simply get their wisdom teeth taken out. Just like me. Very un-interesting.
