03.15.06I am my own ISP
My laptop has a network cable plugged into that back of it. That cable travels under the desk and around the room to a 16 port hub. That hub has a network cable running out of it, up the wall, through the ceiling and down into the other room where it plugs into our satellite modem (if I can call it a modem?). That modem has a thicker cable running out of it, up into the ceiling, through a hole in the wall, and up a hatch onto the roof and plugs into the back of the satellite. That satellite is pointed at satellite 89 (and it’s been so long since I’ve been up there that I forget what part of the sky it’s in).
I have access to the internet through satellite 89.
Right now, the display on the modem is telling me that our satellite is off line. That means either the wind blew it too hard and it stowed itself for protection, or someone went up there and bumped it and it stowed itself, or it lost connection with the satellite and stowed itself after it gave up looking for it (it is a very cloudy day).
So I don’t get it … how am I posting the blog?
