03.07.06Saved by the mouse
So, I’m sitting here bored at work, right? and I think, “I’ve been telling myself I’d find some pictures to print out and add to my travel album. I might as well do that now.”
Well, I’ve taken a bunch of photos and only finished (photo-finished, i.e. “photoshoped”) a select few of them and I knew I’d have to do a few more before I could add them to my album. That means it’s Photoshop time!
In the office here there are 23 computers (not counting my laptop) and 23 mice. Of those 23 mice, 22 are PS/2 and 1 is USB. Where is that lonely USB mouse? It’s in the testing room hooked up to computer 19. Where are the 6 test takers right now? On computers 2, 7, 9, 13, 15 and yes, 19.
When I want to use Photoshop and hook up a mouse to I don’t have to fumble around on my touch-pad where is my sole USB mouse? On computer 19, helping some guy become a doctor.
I wasted some more time trying to find something else to do, but when it came right down to it, I wanted to photoshop. So I fired it up and and began the “two-handed touch-pad finger dance of art”. I was actually getting pretty good at it too … then there was a knock at the door and in walked the UPS man.
He had a package for me from the corporate office. I had run out of my supply of station wipes and he was bringing me more. I opened up the extra-large box. “Oh, that’s right. A new printer cartridge too.” I removed the packaging paper. My eyes rested on something else I had forgotten … a pair of USB mice.
I plugged one into my trusty laptop as soon as I got everything else put away. After a quick jiggle to make sure it was working and a smile to show my delight I returned to my pictures and adjusted the color balance with ease.
It was almost sunset after church on Sunday (which would explain the red glow you might see on one side of her) and I just wanted an excuse to post another picture of her. ![]()
